Firstly we asked questions about last
week, after some discussion we had to read and complete a quiz. Secondly we had
to present out exhibition work.
Law 4 – Learn.
Reading Quiz:
Answer the following questions as succinctly as possible in your
own words.
i.
Describe the relationship between teaching and
learning according to Maeda?
Teaching is easier than
being the student, being a teacher you just have to show that you know all the
answers. A student on the other hand not only do you have to listen and talk to
the teacher you have to make sense of it all.
ii.
Describe the importance of the use of metaphors
in learning, why would you use them, how, give an example?
A metaphor is used to help
you remember important or easy tasks. Righty tighty lefty lossy
iii.
BRAIN - what does the acronym stand for – why is
it important?
Basics are the beginning.
Repeat yourself often.
Avoid creating desperation.
Inspire with examples.
Never forget to repeat yourself.
Why: because practice
makes perfect.
iv.
Describe a situation where you have been
required to teach someone a skill.
Teaching my Son how to use
a toilet.
v.
How could you apply the BRAIN principle to it?
B: Start with taking him them and showing him it what all does and
why, when needs to go to tell you. But you have to catch him out at first.
R: Always take him there
even if it is false alarms.
A: When out in public make him wear a pull up and take him to the
toilet sit, that way you’re save either way.
I: Make going to the toilet fun and/or rewarding.
N: Always ask if he needs to go and make sure that he’s sure.
Task: Exhibition.
For this task we had to present an item related to out exhibition
project, there is no direct borrowing and evidence of work to be posted onto
our blogs.
I have chosen paper motion as my main theme, and this is what I’ve done so far.
